Oxford Oaks Distillery announces Kitchen Manager

Oxford Oaks Distillery LLC is pleased today to announce that it has hired a familiar face and Granville  County native Marc Cavanaugh as Kitchen Manager. Returning to Oxford from Dallas, TX, Chef Marc will  utilize his extensive experience and skills to provide outstanding food service to Verdigris Restaurant  guests. His role will include direct accountability for all of the kitchen business operations and will work in  partnership with Head Chef Joshua Robinson.

"We are excited to add someone with Chef Marc’s talent to our growing team and him being a Granville  County native and well-known member of the community makes it a great partnership. His ability to  produce exceptional food and bring fresh ideas is something we are thrilled about. We knew immediately  he was the ideal person to be our Kitchen Manager and lead the day-to-day operations of the Verdigris  kitchen" commented Operating Partner Pierre Gingue.

Chef Marc brings exceptional culinary talent to the team and will help execute the Verdigris menu that will  contribute to the momentum in the local culinary scene. He grew up in Oxford and has worked in the  restaurant industry for almost 20 years. Being classically trained with a degree in Culinary Arts by Le  Cordon Bleu and Master Chefs from the Culinary Institute of America, he brings vast experience in fine  dining, fast casual dining, wedding and event venue food service as well as private restaurants.

“Being able to divide the kitchen manager role from the head chef role makes our team incredibly robust  and will allow us to look at ways to immediately expand our hours of operation and services. This is  exactly the type of dynamic movement that makes Oxford Oaks Distillery and Verdigris Restaurant so  exciting to bring online. We will continue to explore every opportunity to put Oxford on the map as a  regional destination" explained Co-Founder Dr. Peter Johnson.

Chef Marc’s professional experience includes many of the locally known Granville County favorites as well  as some prominent establishments in the Dallas area where he is relocating from. "It's exciting to join this  team of entrepreneurs and like-minded individuals to help launch this new restaurant concept where my

talents can really shine. I really love the opportunity to come back home and bring the community and  surrounding areas more elevated cuisine. I'm thankful to the team for choosing me to take part in this  endeavor and having the ability to put smiles on the faces of the community that I hold close to my heart. I  am looking forward to bringing these new culinary concepts to this quickly growing area of Granville  County; I have heard for years people wanted something different in town - well get ready here it comes!”  Chef Marc said.

County to Feature GAP Sponsors in New Mural

County to Feature GAP Sponsors in New Mural

GRANVILLE COUNTY PARKS AND GROUNDS: Local businesses and residents now have the opportunity to imprint their legacy on the Granville Athletic Park (GAP) by reserving their space on the new sponsors mural  planned for installation later this year. The mural will be prominently displayed at the shelter facility in Phase III  of the park, adjacent to the accessible playground, tennis courts, and sand volleyball area that opened in 2021.

There are four sponsorship levels available at multiple price points ranging from $1,000 to $7,500. Each tier  offers a different level of prominence and visibility on the mural to allow a business or family donation to be  permanently recognized and featured for the thousands of visitors that visit the GAP each year.

Since opening in 2004, the GAP has truly become the crown jewel recreational complex for Granville County  residents. The park consists of miles of paved walking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course that weaves through tall  pines and hardwoods, ball fields framed by foliage, an outdoor amphitheater perfect for showcasing special  performances in the open air, and an outdoor classroom surrounded by plant life and sunshine. Other features at the GAP include numerous amenities like the large sports pavilion, picnic shelters, children’s musical sound  garden, outdoor fitness equipment, spray park, and a Storywalk® display.

“The GAP has such an amazing history, and we are always looking for ways to honor the citizens and  organizations that have made this park what it is today,” said Assistant County Manager Korena Weichel. “This  sponsor mural will provide a permanent and highly visible recognition for those that have, and will continue, to  make the GAP a special place for county residents and visitors alike. The generous donations made by these  sponsors will ensure that future generations of Granville residents can enjoy the natural beauty and recreational  amenities of the GAP for many years to come.”

For more information about securing your place on the GAP sponsor mural wall, visit  www.granvillecounty.org/gapsponsors.
