North Granville Senior Center to Celebrate with Ribbon- Cutting and Open House on September 26
GRANVILLE COUNTY SENIOR SERVICES: Members of the community are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting and open house for the new North Granville Senior Center on Friday, September 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The new center is located at 301 Oxford Street in Stovall. The opening of this facility marks a major milestone in expanding and improving services to the citizens of northern Granville County.
This 7,400 square foot facility on Oxford Street in downtown Stovall will replace the existing senior center location on US Highway 15. The new facility will feature administrative offices, dining and fitness areas, a multipurpose meeting room, a craft room, a kitchen, an outside deck area featuring a canopy roof, and a paved walking trail.
The North Granville Senior Center is also equipped with a 150-kilowatt standby generator to provide electric service to the building during a power outage, which could be a critical resource for residents during an
emergency situation. Racanelli Construction, Inc. of Apex began construction in the summer of 2024, utilizing a design from Oakley
Collier Architects of Rocky Mount.
In addition to the new North Granville Senior Center in Stovall, residents can also access services at the Granville County Senior Center (107 Lanier Street, Oxford) and the South Granville Senior Center (114 Douglas Drive,
Creedmoor). For more information about programs and services offered through Granville County Senior Services, visit the Granville County website at www.granvillecounty.org/504/Senior-Services
